The Armo Police Academy, the first such training institute to be built in Somalia for several years, opened on December 20, 2005, at Armo, 100 kilometres south of Bosaso.

Located in the Armo District, it serves as a national training center for the Somali Police Force. The academy has received significant investment from the Somali Federal Government and international organizations.
