Police chief meets with International security partners officials in Mogadishu

The Somali Police Chief, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi held a meeting with officials of Somalia’s international security partners, including representatives from UNSOS, EUCAP, ATMIS POLICE, UNDP, UNMAS, IOM, and IDLO, discussing further strengthening police support and counterterrorism efforts.

The discussion focused on increasing donor assistance for the Somali Police Force through police training, development projects, and combat engagement.

Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi stated that at this point in the struggle to destroy the Khawarij groups, it is critical to establish a police force to take over the areas where the terrorists have been eradicated, emphasizing the need of international community cooperation in strengthening the infrastructure.
