Police Chief Registers for Voter ID in Shangani
The Commander of the Somali Police Force, Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi, has registered for a Voter ID Card in Shangani District, Banadir Region, where the public registration process for the upcoming elections is underway. This card grants every citizen the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.
At the registration center, the Commander met with Khadiija Almakhzumi, the Minister of Family and Human Rights, and Chairman of the National Electoral Commission, Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan, where he thanked them for their ongoing efforts to ensure that the public has access to voter registration services.
Chairman Abdikarim presented the Commander with a temporary voter confirmation slip and expressed gratitude for the role the Somali Police Force is playing in maintaining security during the registration process. He highlighted the importance of the police in assisting and protecting citizens as they line up to register and become eligible voters in the upcoming local government elections based on the “one person, one vote” principle.
