Somali Police launch drug assessment course for officers
Mogadishu, Somalia Officers from the Somali Police Force have today commenced a Drug Assessment Course aimed at enhancing their knowledge and skills in the identification, analysis, and evaluation of narcotic substances.
This training forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the fight against drug abuse and trafficking, with a focus on improving the operational capacity of police officers to effectively address challenges associated with illicit drugs.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Head of the Anti-Narcotics and Drug Control Department, Lieutenant Abdirashid Mohamed Ahmed, emphasized the importance of the training in building the capacity of Somali Police officers. He noted that the course is part of a broader strategy to enhance understanding and response to drug-related issues.
He further highlighted the need for continuous training initiatives of this nature to ensure community safety and to mitigate the harmful impact of narcotics across the country.
