The Somali Police Commissioner, General Asad Osman, welcomed officials from the United Nations Police (UNPOL) at his office in Mogadishu.

During their meeting, the UNPOL representatives congratulated the Commissioner and the Somali Police Force on their 81st anniversary.

They also reaffirmed the United Nations’ dedication to supporting the development of a professional and effective police service in Somalia.

This includes their ongoing collaboration through Phase II of the Joint Police Programme (JPP), aimed at strengthening policing capacities, enhancing security, and ensuring community safety across Somalia.
